The Wedding of: Gayle Hafner and Crosby King
|
 |
Invitation
|
Dear Sister and Brother ADAPTers;
One week from today, Wednesday, October 24th, Crosby King and Gayle Hafner joyfully invite you to join them as they exchange their vows to be married and engage in general frivolity in celebration! Please stay after the big meeting in San Francisco for Crosby and Gayle's wedding followed by a fun party.
We want to get married at ADAPT
because we met at ADAPT
in Atlanta in 1996 and ADAPT
is our family. Crosby moved from Houston, Texas in 1997 to be with Gayle and now they hope you will come while they celebrate! Please, do not bring presents. The gift of your presence is presents enough but if you feel compelled, please give National ADAPT
a donation in Gayle and Crosby's honor toward the campaign to Free Our People! RSVP any Maryland ADAPT
member. Thank you. |

The wedding of Gayle Hafner and Crosby King demonstrated that "class" is not opulence, but shared dedication. ADAPT
shares much with Gayle and
Kinger, and was delighted that they would share their wedding vows with the group. Watching the service made me feel proud to be part of the ADAPT
family and happy that Gayle and Kinger had found each other.

Most of the gathered members of ADAPT
cried at the expressions of love in Gayle and Kinger's vows, laughed at the quips concerning ADAPT's style and felt pride in the unity that we all have together.
Crosby's sister, a Presbyterian minister, noted the wedding of Jimmi and Eric nine years ago at an ADAPT
Action in San Francisco was
also conducted by a Presbyterian minister: Wade Blank. This connection gave continuity and purpose to the evening's ceremony.
Following the beautiful and touching service, ADAPT
began the ritual end of the action party and reception for Gayle and
Kinger. |
